Delayed but made it

Despite a two-hour delay (yes, two, stuck on the plane waiting at the gate while the optimistic pilot kept telling us he hoped we would be leaving soon) getting out of New York and a special airport transport to catch the next flight which was also delayed half an hour, we made it to Egypt.

First shot of the pyramids!

Don't worry. I promise we will get closer tomorrow.

It's hot. Much to hot to blog.

Lisa and I are instead venturing out to buy me a towel so I can take a lovely cold shower.  Unlike my darling sister, I opted not to adhere to the well-known rule for traveling--whether it be to Egypt or hitch hiking across the galaxy--and did not bring my towel with me.

A mistake I shall not make again.

Goodbye USA

Once again the Racine sisters are crossing the Atlantic.

As a way to document my adventures interning in London and then gallivanting around the continent, I kept a blog (so I wouldn't have to keep retelling stories). Annie and then Lisa both followed with their shenanigans in Greece and Poland, respectively. For this stretch of our overseas adventures, we will try to keep a joint sibs log of the ridiculousness that I am sure we will get up to in Egypt, Denmark and the Netherlands.

JFK is where we all say goodbye to the USA (although Lisa and I will not actually see Annie in this massive airport).  She will be heading to Copenhagen to be brilliant and neuroscience-y. Lisa and I have some pyramids to see before we catch up with her.

Despite the stupid traffic, I made it to our gate, which is about to start boarding.

So long New York and (by way of a quick greeting to Zurich) hello Cairo!
